Many of you have heard that Janos and J BAR are closing on May 26, 2012. It’s been a fantastic 30 year run cooking for all of you, but even good things must come to an end. We have loved being here at the Westin and are excited to see the renovation of the resort. It will soon blossom into the premiere resort in the southwest. We are also enthused about our opportunities to continue to live our passion – creating a dining experience that embodies a sense of place and transcends the moment. While we recognize that closing at The Westin La Paloma signifies the end of a significant chapter both for us and for the culinary scene in Tucson, it also marks new beginnings. DOWNTOWN Kitchen + Cocktails which we opened in the fall of 2010 is already recognized as one of Tucson’s favorite and best restaurants. We are currently considering several new opportunities for our culinary expressions. We intend to continue to be an important part of the Tucson restaurant community and to help make a difference in the larger community that has been our home the last three decades.
We have already received numerous notes from many of you and very much appreciate your support now and over the years. It has been a privilege to cook for you and to share the great flavors of our home in Tucson. I’m thankful for each of you for allowing us to do what we love and for your wonderful notes of encouragement and support.
For the next month our menus will be a trip down memory lane, filled with your favorite dishes. This Saturday I’m giving a cooking class of ‘Janos Classics’. Call us at 520-615-6100 to make reservations at the cooking class or for dinner during this last month at Janos and J BAR.
